The newest PlayStation Magazine reveals that Sony is hard at work on a service it hopes will dethrone Xbox’s online offerings.

PlayStation Magazine has a scoop on Sony’s plans for their PS3 online service, which we’ve heard plenty rumors about since the company distributed a questionnaire on the topic a little more than a week ago.

PSM’s sources say that Sony has declared a “full-on assault” to match Xbox Live, feature for feature, with their new online service. This will be the first time the company has delved into a central gaming network — up until now, online games have been handled separately by their developers.
