Legends of Wrestlemania - 1
Legends of Wrestlemania was released between the 19th to 24th of March 2009 in Australia, Europe and North America to coincide with WrestleMania XXV. It was first announced in July 2008 by THQ Inc and JAKKS Pacific, Inc. The game was developed by Yuke’s and published by THQ who are also the developer and publisher for the WWE SmackDown video game series. Legends of Wrestlemania is a PS3 game that features legends and alumni of the professional wrestling promotion, World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE). They are the same characters who have appeared at WrestleMania in the 1980s and 1990s during which WWE was still known as the World Wrestling Federation (WWF). In this new instalment, Legends of Wrestlemania features a new grapple-based combo fighting system that focuses more on arcade-style gameplay in order to differentiate itself. Only the D-pad or left analogue stick and the four face buttons are needed in order to play the game. The player’s HUD is indicated through a health bar that shows a number between one and three. ShellShock 2: Blood Trails was released on 13th February 2009 in Europe and on 24th February 2009 in North America. It is developed by Rebellion Developments, published and distributed by Eidos Interactive under the genre of First-person shooter and survival horror. ShellShock 2: Blood Trails is the sequel to ShellShock: Nam’67 that was developed by Guerrilla Games and published by Eidos in 2004. The plot is like any other zombie-like horror influenced first-person shooter game set during the Vietnam War. It revolves around a member of a special ops team headed by the same main character from its predecessor, Special Sgt. Caleb “Cal” Walker that vanished after being sent into the jungle of Cambodia to retrieve cargo known as WhiteKnight (codename for Dr. Pierre DuMont and his virus that were onboard the plane) which was lost after the U.S. transport plane containing it was shot down by an NVAF jet.

Tom Clancy’s HAWX was first officially announced on July 15, 2008 at the annual E3 2008 developers conference. It was released on March 6, 2009. The game falls under the arcade and air combat genre. It was developed and published by Ubisoft Romania and Ubisoft respectively, and was designed by Thomas Simon. Tom Clancy’s HAWX is an air combat video game that takes place during the time of Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter. H.A.W.X is an anagram for High Altitude Warfare eXperimental squadron, set in the near future where private military companies have essentially replaced government-run military in many countries. In the game, players play David Crenshaw, an ex-military elite pilot who was recruited by one of the corporate to work for them as one of their pilots to fight whoever and whenever he was told to. Later on, Crenshaw returns to the US Air Force together with his team on a mission to prevent a full scale terrorist attack on the United Stated which was initiated by this military company.

Trivial Pursuit - 1
Trivial Pursuit was released on March 10 2009. It is both developed and published by Electronic Arts under the Trivia genre, with an ESRB rating of E for Alcohol Reference and Comic Mischief. The console version of Trivial Pursuit allows players to customize their own experience with several game plays. Among the available modes include classic trivial pursuit mode where players can connect with friends, “Clear the Board” single player mode that allows players to hone their knowledge, as well as a “Facts and Friends” high stakes mode that allows players to gather their buddies to bet on their brains by making every answer count. In the last mode, players are required to guess whether their friends know the answer in order to earn extra points. It also includes six “Bonus Events” that add even more depth and replayability to the game. Besides that, there is also an available custom Trivial Pursuit profile that allows you to track your best categories over time. (more…)

50 Cent: Blood on the Sand was first announced by Sierra on 27 March 2008. It was developed by Swordfish Studios and published by THQ under the genre of third-person shooter. It has an ESRB rating of M for mature and was released on 20 February 2009 in Europe and February 24 2009 to the rest of the world. 50 Cent: Blood on the Sand is a third-person shooting video game that serves as the sequel to 50 Cent: Bulletproof. 50 Cent: Blood on the Sand focuses on rapper 50 Cent in a fictional plot that takes place in a fictional Middle Eastern country where 50 Cent and G-Unit perform a rap concert. As payment, they received a priceless diamond covered human skull instead of the money they were promised. (more…)

Killzone 2 was first officially announced by Sony at E3 2005 with its first gameplay footage shown only two years later at E3 2007. It was released between 25 to 27 February 2009 under the genre of first-person shooter, tactical and action with an ESRB ration of M for Mature. Killzone 2 is developed by Guerilla Games and published by Sony Computer Entertainment for the PS3. It is the third instalment in the Killzone franchise that began on the PlayStation 2 with Killzone which was succeeded later on by Killzone: Liberation on the PlayStation Portable. Except for vehicular combat, the game is presented entirely from a first person perspective, featuring a “lean and peek” cover system which allows players to take cover behind objects and then pop out to fire at enemies. It is a licensed baseball simulation video game published by 2K Sports. In this edition, pitching has been simplified from the previous 2K8’s three-step pitching, to the current two-step pitching, with hold and gesture, with the elimination of the third release timing step.
