Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3

The Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3 is a PS3 game that falls under the Genre of Real-Time Strategy and it was officially released on the 23rd March, 2009 by its publisher, Electronic Arts. The game is rated as T or Teen (contain violent content, mild or strong language, and/or suggestive themes) which means that it is suitable for players who are more than 13 years old by ESRB (Entertainment Software Rating Board), while the game’s developer is EA Los Angeles. The Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3 offers a collection of limited and exclusive features for players who like to play strategic game. The game started with a leader from the former Soviet Union who travels back in time to change the course of history and restore back the glory of Russia. Suddenly the time travel mission does not work as planned, thus creating a new superpower to the world and also the World War III which involves the Soviet, the Allies and the Empire of the Rising Sun. The armies equipped with new kind of weapons and technologies such as Tesla coils, heavily armed War Blimps, teleportation, armoured bears, intelligent dolphins, floating island fortresses, and transforming tanks. The game is also designed with 720p resolutions for providing quality, smooth and clean images.
The Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3 allows player to choose from three separate nations to have full control off and also uncover its story through out the entire campaign. Similar to previous Red Alert franchise, it retains the “what if” concept, where the Soviet Colonel Anatoly Cherdenko attempted to travel back in time in a mission to regain Soviet Union’s glory. The year of his choice is 1927 and the place is the International Physics Conference of Albert Einstein’s in Brussels. Despite being advised not change the history, the Colonel shakes the hand of Einstein, thus vanquishing him. With new history being created, Cherdenko is the new Russian Premier, Einstein never created nuclear weapons, and technology has entered an all new level of sophistication as a result, with a new dominant superpower. Another nation emerge at the forefront of the world, which is the Empire of the Rising Sun (the Japanese), and they are waging war against the Allies (Europe) and the Soviets. The Russian leader, including the premier is played by Tim Curry, JK Simmons playing the character of US President Ackerman, George Takei as the Emperor, and Jenny McCarthy as Tanya.
No matter which side you choose to play for, they have their own different strengths of army units for example, playing as the Empire, you will be able to use the mecha tengu which has the capability of attacking infantry from the ground or do anti-air duty in the skies. Meanwhile, the Soviet has bullfrog which can transport troops across land and water, plus spewing its infantry to a good distance by using the man-cannon. As for the Allied, they have the aircraft carrier which can send a squadron of drones into the fray and it is one of Red Alert 3’s most autonomous naval units. Besides that, it also provides other unit which is also unique where player will be able to fight against parachuting bears, followed by dolphins with sonic weapons attached to their bodies or colossal samurai robot and also other units that can travel by sea, by air, and on the ground. The Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3 also support online gaming where players can enjoy playing with friends or opponents (up to 8 persons in an online game) from all over the world. In addition, it also features cooperative campaign play where player can go through each of the campaigns together with friends or one of nine, in-game commanders, each with unique personalities and play styles.
The PS3 game also features the command-wheel system which enables players to access build queues just by pulling a trigger, plus some new enhancements, such as an enlargeable mini map that helps you move quickly around the level. Other function include selecting multiple units by holding the X button at a time, thus making it easier to establish mixed control groups. In addition, there is also a co-commander feature where players will be able to issue basic commands, such as holding a particular spot or attacking a specific structure. There is also the contextual command that requires specific actions, such as destroying a reactor or capturing a building. The Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3 also provides player with a set of training exercises for familiarizing with its RTS game play and features. It also uses the intuitive Command Stick 2.0 interface, the series’ signature control system that allows gamers to easily command their units on the battlefield.
