The Leisure Suit Larry Box Office Bust is a PS3 platform game that falls under the Adventure genre which was announced on the 21st February, 2009 and was officially released on the 5th May, 2009 by its publisher, Codemasters. The game is rated as M for Mature content (sexual themes, more intense violence and/or strong language) which means that it is suitable for players who are more than 17 years old by ESRB (Entertainment Software Rating Board), while the game’s developer is Team17 Software. The Leisure Suit Larry Box Office Bust is an intensely 3rd person adventure adult game that comes with simple game play but some of tasks are actually difficult that includes exploration, hand-to-hand fighting, a third person platforming, racing, shooting galleries and puzzle-solving timed challenges to complete missions. Players will play the role of Larry Lovage, the nephew of the original and legendary Larry Laffer who has a movie studio in Tinselwood. Larry’s job is to work as odd jobs worker like scrubbing graffiti off billboards, collect lost script pages, delivering packages or various other studio jobs while trying to uncover a mole from another studio that has inside information about Larry’s upcoming movies thus threatens to sabotage it. In addition, it also features an all-new Directors Game that allows players to create their very own “Larry Feature”, plus it also comes with sophomoric comedy with writing skills from Allen Covert (Happy Madison Productions), famous Hollywood actors and actresses, that include Jay Mohr, Dave Attell, Shannon Elizabeth, Carmen Elektra, Patrick Warburton, Jeffrey Tambor, Nikki Cox, Peter Graves, Jane Lynch, Tom Arnold and Josh Keaton.

The Leisure Suit Larry Box Office Bust started off in several locations, from the main movie studio of Larry’s uncle to a number of movie set locations or “Dream Sequences” like the Wild West (“Beefcake Mountain”), the Titanic (called “Bytanic” in the game) and Horror Coffin (“Whack A Corpse”). Players will spend a lot of time running around the massive movie studio and hijacking or drive battery-powered golf carts with brightly coloured detail cartoon environments. Larry also has the ability to jump, double-jump, and also loves to grip onto wall as he prepares to wall-jump in trying to complete his missions. Besides that, Larry can also punch, kick, block and performed a magical-pirouette-knockdown attack against his opponents. Players need to always check on Larry’s health bar because any damage or fall that Larry runs into will affect this health bar as it finishes, players will need start back at a mission’s beginning. After completing one of the dream sequences, players will have the opportunity to direct (an all-new Directors mode) the final scene where you can choose any of the three cameras to focus on as the scene is acted out. This is a challenging task as players will need to switch cameras for the optimum shoot in time with the action, dialogue cues and need to listen to the dialogue as well. The game also has a notable mini game where Larry tries to seduce one of the many women around him with amusing, funny dialogue and sometimes vulgar conversations. The Leisure Suit Larry Box Office Bust also uses the voice talents of famous names like Jay Mohr (Last Comic Standing), Dave Attell (Insomniac), Shannon Elizabeth (American Pie), Carmen Elektra (Starsky and Hutch), Artie Lange (Mad TV), Patrick Warburton (Family Guy), Jeffrey Tambor (Arrested Development), Nikki Cox (Las Vegas), Peter Graves (Mission Impossible), Jane Lynch (The 40 Year Old Virgin), Tom Arnold (McHale’s Navy) and Josh Keaton (The Spectacular Spider-Man) as the voice of Larry Lovage.
