ShellShock 2: Blood Trails

ShellShock 2 Blood Trails - 1
ShellShock 2: Blood Trails was released on 13th February 2009 in Europe and on 24th February 2009 in North America. It is developed by Rebellion Developments, published and distributed by Eidos Interactive under the genre of First-person shooter and survival horror. ShellShock 2: Blood Trails is the sequel to ShellShock: Nam’67 that was developed by Guerrilla Games and published by Eidos in 2004. The plot is like any other zombie-like horror influenced first-person shooter game set during the Vietnam War. It revolves around a member of a special ops team headed by the same main character from its predecessor, Special Sgt. Caleb “Cal” Walker that vanished after being sent into the jungle of Cambodia to retrieve cargo known as WhiteKnight (codename for Dr. Pierre DuMont and his virus that were onboard the plane) which was lost after the U.S. transport plane containing it was shot down by an NVAF jet.
Reviews
ShellShock 2: Blood Trails is said to take a sharp left turn away from its gritty realistic 2004 predecessor by throwing in zombie hordes into the expected mix of AK-47s and rice paddies. It combines both horror with stereotypical first-person shooter combat that makes the game stand apart from the crows. Some have commented that the PS3 controls for ShellShock 2: Blood Trails are quite hard to master. Level design is deemed to be attractive although it may seem as if you’re running from one Vietnam movie set to another. The scenery features bloody trails everywhere, making it seem as if you can’t walk two feet without encountering a beheaded soldier mounted on a wall or with his legs blown off. However, the audio department does not seem up to par as the M-16 and AK-47 fire can barely be heard at times while the explosions doesn’t seem to have any thump.
