Trivial Pursuit

Trivial Pursuit was released on March 10 2009. It is both developed and published by Electronic Arts under the Trivia genre, with an ESRB rating of E for Alcohol Reference and Comic Mischief. The console version of Trivial Pursuit allows players to customize their own experience with several game plays. Among the available modes include classic trivial pursuit mode where players can connect with friends, “Clear the Board” single player mode that allows players to hone their knowledge, as well as a “Facts and Friends” high stakes mode that allows players to gather their buddies to bet on their brains by making every answer count. In the last mode, players are required to guess whether their friends know the answer in order to earn extra points. It also includes six “Bonus Events” that add even more depth and replayability to the game. Besides that, there is also an available custom Trivial Pursuit profile that allows you to track your best categories over time. In order to keep gameplay fresh, Trivial Pursuit has included a wide diversity of question categories including Geography, Entertainment, History, Art and Literature, Science and Nature, as well as Sports and Leisure. There are six different question types designed to put your trivia expertise to the test including Sliders, True or False, Multiple Choice, Images, Maps (multiple choice) and Maps (pin placement). For local play, Trivial Pursuit can support up to four players in offline versus multiplayer mode.
Reviews
Trivial Pursuit is Electronic Arts’ attempt to bring the popular board game to the home console while capturing the essence of the original game by stuffing in loads of head-scratching questions. Trivial Pursuit has long held the title of being the arbiter in matters of trivia superiority. However, some may feel that the current Trivial Pursuit has not made full use of the potential that may come from its newfound digital home as seen in the lack of online multiplayer, giving players no reason to choose it over the cardboard original version. Further more, it is not priced competitively as compared to its other video trivia games counterparts.
