Meanwhile, the multiplayer features five different modes which are the Deathmatch which allows player to choose any characters in a free-for-all battle. This Team Deathmatch features Autobots vs Deceptions. However the Control mode features a similar gameplay to the Star Wars Battlefront series, with teams battling for control of definite areas to gain points. Then, the One Shall Stand mode is quite same to Team Deathmatch but the difference being that the sole objective is to take out the enemy’s leader which the Optimus Prime or Megatron while protecting their own. Finally, the last mode is Battle for the Shards which features Capture the Flag style gameplay where the teams search for shards of the AllSpark and return them to their base to earn points.
What’s the game about?
The Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen videogames gives a chance to the players to experience their favorite Autobots and Decepticons in this thrilling and explosive action videogame. In this game the player will be able to take up arms as either the Earth-protecting Autobots whose missions consist of destroying a bunch of Decepticons, protecting buildings, people or to uninfect a communication tower. Meanwhile if the player choose to play the Cranky and destructive Decepticons, then the mission is to kill a bunch of Autobots, destroy buildings, kidnap someone or infect communication towers. Each of these characters will pack their own specific abilities and weaponry. Then, on their way to places such as Cairo, Shanghai, the player will be able to switch in instantly between their Transformer vehicle, biped forms and also able to take the action online and battle with other players in the new multiplayer modes. But occasionally the player will get a mission that will have them racing through checkpoints in order to catch up to beacon, but those are few and far between.
“Imagine what it would be like to become a Transformer. Walking, jumping, and climbing in your humanoid form would be pretty familiar, and you could easily get the hang of whipping out your guns to blast enemies. Driving yourself around might be a bit awkward at first, and flying would be significantly trickier, but the real problems would come when you tried to transform. Shifting your physical form would be really disorienting, and it would take a while before you really mastered it. That’s actually a pretty accurate breakdown of what it’s like to play Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. In the early going, the controls are uncomfortable but functional. As you play through either of the solid campaigns, you’ll get better and better until you reach a point where you can fluidly move between different forms and dispatch your enemies with style. Then the game becomes a fun, engaging romp through the Transformerverse, and taking your skills online gives you a new tactical challenge. Though it takes awhile to get there, and it never outgrows some of its problems, Revenge of the Fallen is an entertaining way to step into the chassis of a giant transforming robot from space.” (Gamespot, 2009)
