In the cooperative mode, the two players can capture an enemy or the enemies together or killing enemies together or snowmobile race and etc. There are five separate groups of missions in the Special Ops which are Alpha, Bravo, Charlie, Delta, and Acho. In every mission, there are three difficulties which are regular, hardened, and veteran. Everytimes the player complete a missions, the player will earn a star. There are only three stars offered in each missions. Each star represents the difficulty levels. More missions will be unlocked once the player has earned enough stars. There are total 69 stars to earn which means the player has 23 missions to complete. After the player has completed a mission, there will be a display of the statistics showing how many enemies are killed by the player and how long the player did took to complete the missions. Modern Warfare 2 has the same game modes as Call of Duty 4 which are Free-For-All, Search & Destroy, Demolition, Domination, Team Deathmatch, and Capture The Flag. Captain MacTavish returns and serves as Roach’s superior officer and mentor. Captain John Price too returns to help Task Force 141. Sergeant Foley is the squad leader of Joseph Allen and then became the squad leader of James Ramirez. Nikolai also returns to help out in Task Force 141. The primary antagonist all through the story is Vladimir Makarov, which is a protégé of Imran Zakhaev.
“The result of all these multiplayer tweaks is a richer, more customizable experience and a busier battlefield. Fortunately, the action generally remains on the good side of hectic, and the stream of rewards is as satisfying as ever. Two new elements, title and emblem, are little graphics and titles that you earn through your match performance, and these range run the gamut from serious to totally goofy. While not exactly in keeping with the serious tone of the campaign, they add an amusing way to further customize your online presence. With a robust variety of playlists in which to ply your deadly trade, Modern Warfare 2’s competitive multiplayer is the best in the series and one of the best available on consoles. The inelegant campaign plot may make you feel like you’re just along for the ride, but it is such an intense, roaringly great ride that you will be glad just to have played it. The cooperative missions provide a uniquely fun angle on the action that rounds out the package superbly, making Modern Warfare 2 thoroughly entertaining, thoroughly rewarding, and thoroughly worth the wait.”(gamespot.com, November 2009)
